I made it over the wall again! After 2 unsuccessful and fearful attempts on a V1 path, I finally got over the wall on the third try. The first time I tried, I was unsure of the best way to place my feet and my hands halfway through the path. On the second attempt, I was able to touch the top, but I got scared when I looked down. Once I looked down and saw how high I was, I started to freeze and panic a bit. I gingerly started to use any available holds to get down and I hopped off halfway down the wall. Before the third attempt, I took a look at where was the best place to grab a confidence hold at the top of the wall. I told myself to just hang on with my arms and lift my leg up as soon as I could. And of course: DON'T LOOK DOWN. Finally, on the third attempt, I was able to reach the top and lift myself over the edge. Once I got my right foot over the ledge, I used it as anchor and rolled the rest of my body over. Afterwards, I just started at the ceiling for a few seconds on my back. I quickly snapped a picture over the ledge. Even though I was pumped to get over, I was still too scared to look over the edge myself. This session has been the most challenging one so far, but I am glad I made and didn't die in the process.

About - 20% ProjectGoogle gives their employees free reign to explore their own interests and side projects known as "20% Projects." These projects have lead to innovative Google products like Gmail and Adsense. Kevin Brookhouser has taken this concept into the classroom to foster learning that is meaningful and enduring in a modern society of constant change. Our cohort is emulating this idea by pursuing our own 20% Projects in hopes that we can discover dimensions of learning which are inquiry driven and personally motivated. ArchivesCategories |
