I made it over the wall! Last time, I kept focusing on the ground which freaked me out too much to go much higher. This time, I kept focusing on the next hold and to not look down. After reaching the top, I just rolled over and stared at the ceiling for 10 seconds. When I got up, my fear of heights took hold of me again. I gingerly made my way over to the stairs and avoided looking over the ledge.
As of now, I am able to complete this VB (beginners) level path when I'm still fresh. Next is V0, which I was also able to successfully climb! I did not go to the second level after I completed it as my arms were too tired. I was also able to reach the goal of a V1 (level 1), but again, I did not go over the top as my arms were not strong enough. As the hour wore on, we climbed a few more V1 scattered along the wall with some successes and some not-so-successes. I traversed the wall a bit more until I couldn't go on.
Prior to climbing, I tried to do another pull-up, but I still can barely manage one. I don't know if I'll be able to reach my goal by the end of 5 weeks. I might have to amend it to 2 pull-ups.
Next time, I'll try to start on a V1 and see if I can reach over the top and go over again.
